Admission to Turkish universities Turkish universities are divided into two categories: public and private. In order to be admitted to the first level of higher education, bachelor's degree programs, at least one of the YÖS, DİM and SAT exam results was required. However, it is also possible to be admitted to the university without taking any exams and with only a high school certificate. YÖS – This is not a centralized exam, but is mainly held within the universities. Applicants who want to take the YÖS exam can contact the university they will apply to directly and register, and take the exams within the university itself or at a selected center. SAT – The results of these exams are recognized by almost all universities. The minimum score required by universities is 1200. Students with high results have the opportunity to get a 25, 50 and 75 percent discount on the tuition fees offered by private universities, respectively.
